On Fittings and the Changes as a Result

I finally got my nerve together to have something done I have never actually gotten done: I had a bra fitting.

Yep, you heard me-a bra fitting. (Actually, I ended up getting two of them, but I am getting ahead of myself.)

The thought was, now that I have reasonable boobs I have decided I need to get this done. They are free in a number of stores, and so I figured it's about time.
Of course, this was done to help in the process to buy something I once said I'd never buy: fake boobs. I feel that after getting and using an epilator, and looking
more femme than before, I'd like a little more cleavage. To get the right size, I need to actually get fitted for a bra properly, so I can order the right size. And while
I have a good read of my measurements (or so I thought), this is something I needed to have done right the first time, because once one orders a set of boobs,
one can't (usually) return them.

So, since I had to do a little shopping anyway, I decided that January 9, 2006 would be the day. I went to the first store that I thought might do a bra fitting, and
the clerk there was really sweet and did me up in a jiffy. I about choked when I got the result: 42c. I thanked her (after showing her some pictures of me totally
en femme) and wondered down to a second store…one that advertised bra fittings.

I was turned down. They “only did women.” Okay, I was not surprised (disappointed, but not terribly surprised). They did have my shoes, however, and they had
them in my size. So that store wasn't a total loss.

Wandering about a bit, I finally wandered into yet a third store that I guessed might do bra fittings. They did, and while the band width was determined to be about
a 40, the cup size was still a c. I thanked the clerk there and showed her the pictures as well, which actually put her at great ease. She saw that I was not
clowning around, that I was indeed rather serious about all this. Then I wandered out.

After checking my copy of Tlog, I have decided the nice clerk at the first store was probably more correct: My own measurements show a measurement of
41.25 inches. That's closer to a 42 than a 40.

So, I have decided not to buy a set of fake boobs. Mine are actually larger than the 36c's I had thought. (Of course I am, as of this writing, just starting my third
year on hormones.) Instead, I will be looking at just a set of inserts. They'll be much less expensive, and it looks like I only might want an additional cup size,
anyway.

In addition, it looks like I will be replacing, a few at a time, some of my daily wear bras. Some of my better/special bras will still be okay for now (and in fact, with
inserts might look really good).

Update 1:
...and then again, maybe I spoke too soon about the size bra I need to get. (I am still pretty much decided about not buying fake boobs.)

I bought a 42c today (January 10, 2006) and found, while the band is far more comfortable, my boobs do not have nearly the support I expected. (In all fairness,
I did not get an underwire bra.) In fact, even with the band pulled in as tight as it will go, it feels a little loose. So tomorrow I am going to get a 40c and see which
one I like better. I'll post the results here, just so you'll know.

Update 2:
I  tried a 40c today. I think this will work better--same style of bra, but the slightly lesser band size does help provide a little more support. I supect I may end
up with a combination of sizes, depending on the bra style. Meantime, I went ahead and got two more of the same style of the 40c for everyday wear.

Mina is a happy woman!
