Why this site exists:

I got asked by a gay friend of mine, "Why do you have a website up? I mean, you can't compete with some of the more
'professional' sites, so why try?"

This question had me stumped for a bit. I mean, it wasn't meant to be malicious, it was simply more of a "Why do you invest
so much time into a website like you are investing in this one?"

See, as my friend puts it, there are three types of TG websites: "Sexual", "I'm waiting for my SRS, I'm past my SRS, or to hell
with SRS", or the "I'm looking for others just like me" type of sites. And, to a point, my friend is correct.

This site exists for several reasons.

This is not a sexual site. If that's what you want, there are plenty of places to go for that. Here is not one of them. While I may have
in my writings and/or photos certain sensual elements, that is not why I do what I do. I have said this before: I live this. If it is a turn
on, not only is it the most expensive one I have ever had, but the most frustrating as well. Not to mention the longest running. We
are talking several years now, after all.

This is not an "I'm waiting for my SRS, or I'm past my SRS, or to hell with SRS" type site. As I write this, I am contemplating
prescription hormonal treatment. SRS isn't even something I am considering right now. I guess that makes me a Non-Op MTF
tranny. Deal with it, honey.

This is not a "looking for others like me" site, although that is a part of how and why I started this site. I mean, let's be frank here.
(Oh, all right. If you want to be Francine, go ahead. I won't stop you!) Why do any of us put pics of ourselves, our diaries, our
thoughts and private lives on the web? For public ridicule? Mmmm…I don't think so. (At least, I didn't.) Seeking others like us,
especially when we are first starting out, is not only natural…it's typical.

Actually, this site exists as a meld of all three of the above reasons, plus one other. So many TG sites are sexual. Why?
Because they can be, I guess. Not my cup of chai, but then what I have to offer here may not somebody else's idea of a good
time, either. I have tried to make this a resource for newly awakened TG's, and that really isn't a sexual thing. Beginners need
to start somewhere, and I would hope they could start off here and not get blown away…literally or figuratively.

There are many sites in the "operations" (or lack thereof) category that offer more links, info, etc. than a newly awakened
TG can assimilate. One site has 300 web rings, and another has 2100+ total links. That is just too much info to start with. It
can be intimidating. I have tried to be picky about which web rings I join, and which links I offer. There are hundreds out there.
I have tried to not go the route of signing up for all of them. (It's tough sometimes, too!) In point of fact, I took several years of
checking out web rings before deciding on the ones I have. It's not that the others are bad; some of them are just not me.

In the "just seeking same" category, some of these sites are almost painful to look at. They don't have bad content. In fact,
some of them have great content, and the owners are drop-dead gorgeous. But the site construction is just terrible. Links don't
work, addresses have changed, or something just fouls up. I try to spot check my links often, and fix the ones that don't work.
I have had the benefit of friends and TG's in the know offer some advice, for which I am very grateful. Goddess bless you all for
your input!

Finally, this site exists for one other reason: simply because I wanted to have a site! J
