When it rains... (January 2007-December 2007)
January 8, 2007
Dear Diary:

It's a new year, and this is another new diary section, and I am not quite sure what to call it (The diary section, not the year). I finally named last year's Diary
section; it looks like this year will have to wait a bit as well.

It looks like Typhoid Mina has struck again...The S.O. has the cold one of my family so lovingly bestowed on me at Christmastime. Some things ought not to
be shared, but then, I tried to NOT give it to her.

Outside of that, nothing else is new. Looks like a good year, this year. It has been so far.

Luv 'n hugs always,
Mina

Dear Diary:

And then all hell broke loose.

I spent two weeks at the end of January without my computer. It seems that the removal program for a certain local manufacturer of Internet security
removed a lot more than it needed to. Fortunately, I keep the website on a jumpdrive. What that meant is that I spent two weeks in withdrawal mode,
and only used the SO's laptop on an as-needed basis.

Then after getting that back, I was given a new laptop, which I have spent the last ten days...customizing...shall we say. So I have spent most of the
last four weeks being a computer geek. It's been worth it, I think. (It's a Dell, after all.) We'll see how it works out.

Luv 'n hugs always,
Mina

...and this is where 2007 ends. I had a lot going on all very quickly, and I quit writing. Period.

I will fill you all in on some of the year, but the bulk of it was spent working on my marriage. We've been living with her folks since we moved out from Indiana,
and that caused stress. A lack of money didn't help, and of course, my living as the woman I am becoming was finally getting to all of us. We needed to resolve
some things, and at one point, I came close to walking away from my marriage. I chose not to, for various reasons.

We went on a trip (for work) in April. That allowed us to work through some of our issues.

In May, her chorus trounced the rest of the region, and won the right to compete in November 2008 in Honolulu. We have 18 months to save for it.

We went to the Barbershop International in Denver in July. That helped a little more. Ten days after we get home, I go back to Evansville, work in the office for a few
days, walk graduation (My D. Min--earned as a man)...and my boss enrolls me in another degree program. This at another school...and this time, it's a Ph.D.

My SO lost her job in an ugly way in August, which really didn't help at all.

I quit paying the Tripod folks and went to a free system in September...then got so bummed with the result I yanked the website.

Just like that...six years plus of online work vanishes.

Except it really didn't. I kept it (well, most of it, anyway) on a backup disc, with older files and the like.

Thanksgiving came, and my SO was still not working full time. We went to my girlhood home for Thanksgiving.

Christmas was in Oregon.

And that's where 2007 ends.
